“People should learn to respect other people’s sensibilities. We Muslims have the right to

marry when we want or give out our daughters at any age we want. It is not your business

 and the law must respect our right to do so.

Anything short of that is an infringement on our rights.We did not ask you to marry ladies

New Google Maps Now Open to Everyone — No Invite Needed

just saw this and this is awesome, i just had to tell you guys about the new Google map

Google Maps' redesigned web app is now open to everyone — and no invites are necessary.

In a tweet sent Tuesday night, @GoogleMaps said users simply have to "sign up" to access the new app.

Under the "desktop" section of the new Google Maps' about page, users are prompted to click "Try now." Doing so will send them to a preview of the revamped app. From now on, whenever users visit the maps.google.com URL, they will be redirected to google.com/maps/preview.

Similarly, users who still have the old version of Maps will see an option to "Get the new Google Maps" on the app's left-hand side.

Previously, the new Maps was only accessible on an invite-only basis.

The new Google Maps for desktop debuted in May at Google's I/O 2013 conference.

Trayvon Martin & SUS in the UK

Treyvon Martin………………targeted and ultimately killed for acting suspiciously. Would his behaviour had been seen as suspicious by George Zimmerman had Trayvon been a white male? All I know and have known all of my life is that behaviour assigned to black people as suspicious, aggressive, loud, sexual, mentally ill etc, is often given another name when assigned to white individuals. Did Trayvon die because of racial prejudice and stereotyping? Did he die because his behaviour was assessed by a mind that was loaded with racist, prejudicial biases? How free are black races in the diaspora to walk without fear of suspicion of guilt based upon racial stereotypes? Only last week (09/0/2013), in the UK we saw the Chief Inspector of the Constabulary conclude that 27% (yes, over a quarter, the equivalent of 250,000) of people stopped and searched (under SUS laws), were stopped illegally. We have seen people stopped without ‘reasonable suspicion’ as is required, by those given legal mandate to do so by dint of their job and still we have this massive and worrying discrepancy in how SUS is implemented. Trayvon was was rightfully in the area with his father visiting his father’s partner. Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch security man, was suspicious of Trayvon on his return from buying sweets and a drink, and followed him in his vehicle where he had a gun. Suspicious…..so suspicious that he didn’t back off when told to by the police that he reported Trayvon to. What was the suspicous behaviour that this 17 year old exhibited? What was he doing that was of so much concern that immediate action had to be taken? 25% illegal SUS use due to being ‘suspicious’; a path that led to a killing, sparked for the same reason. Is just being suspicious a valid base for a decision or action that can have outcomes of such magnitude? What happened to evidence? What makes you jumpy may not register with me as an issue. Suppose I don’t find young black males in hoodies suspicious but get real worried around white middle class men in shirts and ties? What rights does that give me to target them for Acquitted of murder, Zimmerman is free to walk. Trayvon Martin cannot.

Apple Gives Away Top iOS Games and Apps Ahead of App Store's 5th Birthday

 

Several popular iOS games and apps have had their price reduced to zero.
The promotion is not formally explained anywhere on Apple's website, but The Verge says it could be related to the App Store's 5th anniversary.
The list of free apps includes Traktor DJ, Day One, Over and Barefoot World Atlas.
Free games include Infinity Blade II, Badland, Tiny Wings, Where's My Water? and Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP.
For comparison, the standard price for Infinity Blade II is $6.99, while Traktor DJ for iPad goes for $19.99.
We're waiting for an official explanation from Apple regarding these discounts, but in the meantime, we recommend you go and treat yourself to some freebies.

Sergey Brin Explains Google Glasses

Why did Google create Google Glass, its glasses with a heads-up display?

To hear Sergey Brin, Google co-founder, explain it, it was to prevent social isolation.

He got on stage Wednesday at the $7,500-a-seat TED conference in Long Beach, Calif., and looked down, pretending to use his smartphone. “That is why we created this form factor,” he said.

He said rubbing the screens of buttonless and knobless phones was strange. “I feel like it’s kind of emasculating,” he said. “You are just rubbing this featureless piece of glass. There isn’t anything to feel.”

“You want something that frees your eyes,” he said. Also, he said, “We wanted to free up your ears.” The sound goes straight to your cranium.

He said original prototypes did not have a camera built in, clearly a flaw. He said, “It’s been really magical to capture moments spent with my family and kids that I would never have done with a camera or a phone, on a swing, in the air, whatever situation.”

But he also discovered a drawback to the glasses. When he takes out his phone, he said, “I look as if I have something very important to do. This takes away that excuse.”

The company will sell the glasses for $1,500 each to people who write a convincing essay on what they will use the glasses for.
