You Have No Excuse!

stumbled upon this picture on the internet while browsing and i was like "wow" ....this guy with all his pending and seemingly disability he still went to a school to get an education,if this was Nigeria or most west african nations, he would be begging on the street.
This just goes to tell us that we have to excuse not to be great or succeed in life, everything we need in life to become better is given to us for free e.g The air we breath, and  24hrs (time) is given to all men equally, even though we have a rough start,we have to keep doing what we have to do with the AVAILABLE RESOURCES GIVEN TO US.

GNBO WEB FAIR ... 2012!

Google Nigeria on  Thursday and Friday  25th and 26th of April 2012 at City Hall, Onikan, Lagos, assisted many Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria to create their individual Website.

The fair had over two thousand people in attendance...( naija peeps like better thing oh!!)

The goal of the program is to make it easier for Nigerian entrepreneurs to grow their businesses by taking advantage of web resources .

This initiative became in September 2011 and Over 20,000 sites have been created since the GNBO was launched, showing that SMEs in Nigeria are well aware of the advantages of Internet.

And yours truly; that's me was a facilitator  or should i say teacher during this event...*smile*

Facebook vs Google+

Its no longer news that there is a silent battle going on between face book and the search engine giant's new social network..Google +

The radical impact Google is making within the social space has reminded me a bit of the early days with Microsoft vs. Apple. Today it’s Facebook vs Google Plus. Much like Microsoft, Facebook captured the bulk of the market early on and rapidly grew on a worldwide basis. And even though Facebook, much like Microsoft has been somewhat discombobulated, they both fulfilled an untapped need. Microsoft redefined productivity in the business world. Facebook revolutionized the way we communicate with each other. Both achieved what needed to be done on a functional level.

Apple on the other hand offered equal functionality yet with simplicity and clean sleek design. I admit I am biased as I have always been an Apple person, but as I have played around with Google Plus, I am feeling the same differentiating factors. Google+ is simple and smoother in design. Good friend, Ayesha Mathews-Wadhwa, recently shared a comment referring to the Aspen Ideas Festival:

Design is changing the way we talk to each other.

So true! And I believe Facebook is about to find that out. Facebook is functional and meets a need. But by incorporating thoughtful and logical design, Google+ takes the social experience to a different level.

So who wins? The consumer. I doubt Facebook is going away, but much like Microsoft, they are no longer the only ones playing and will have to step it up. Good competition means choices and ultimately better products for consumers. Google has been trying to get into the social space for quite awhile with little success. But with Google+, I think they have finally created not only something to compete with Facebook (and yes, Twitter,) but something that might even cause a switch.

For example, take a look at Chris Brogan’s (social media extraordinaire) new profile picture on Facebook. I was a bit amused, but I’m guessing Mark Zuckerberg did not feel the same.

Deliver us from Apapa traffic!!

first of all let me give kudos to the Lagos state governor Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN , on the tremendous work his administration is doing especially on roads construction and all, that said lets go into the main issue on ground today,

Getting to work in apapa most times is a night mare and most times discouraging, as a journey that will usually take you 30 minutes will take you over 2 hours...why? largely because of the trailers and trucks packed along the apapa express way, thereby creating a one lane road on a road that usually takes three lanes.

This issue has to be addressed soon and fast,as it gets worse every day,as this is crippling the economy of Lagos slowly as less human work hours are put on the job because we spend most of our energy on the road.."IN TRAFFIC "

we urge those responsible for road and traffic wordiness to address this issue

The Rap General...SPOTTIE!

Emeka Frank Dimude a.k.a. Spottie who often times refers to himself as ‘the rap general’ is a renowned rap artiste/performer in the world of entertainment
The Lagos born came 2nd in the first ever rhythm unplugged talent show organized by the silverbird group some years ago. He is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in lyrical arts. He has got a strong advantage which is the ability to “free style” i.e. rap without having written any lines anywhere – spontaneous creation of words that make sense.
The graduate of Chemical Engineering of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri has soared through the different dispensations of the music industry, showing great strength and potential. Every studio he has stepped his foot into, he has left a long lasting impression. He also has that super star image and charisma that can take him to the highest levels possible...

His latest single ' she say' is causing major buzz on the air waves and its a must listen to track peeps. what made me love the song was its instrumentation and beats...kudos to your beat maker ( Chubb clef !!)

Black berry blade!...truth or fiction!

The image above came from Toronto Design Firm Pixelcarve and totally made my day. Seen here is the BlackBerry Blade - their idea of what the first BlackBerry 10 device could look like. Though with a trackpad and BlackBerry menu and back keys this feels more like it should be a next generation BlackBerry 7 (or 8) Smartphone than one running on the QNX-based OS. I'm don't think we'll be seeing these buttons on BlackBerry 10 phones (like the PlayBook, BB10 phones will likely be more focused on the swipe experience and touch UI).
Regardless, as far as concept sliders go it's totally hot. The concept features an amazing 4.5 inch AMOLED display, quad-core 1.5GHz processor, Gorilla Glass and a 12MP camera. While the latest rumors are that the first BlackBerry 10 device won't have a keyboard, this slider is still pretty awesome.

Kano state gives 1000 women; husbands...wonders shall never end!!!

Kano State Government is sponsoring a matchmaking scheme where single, divorced and widowed women can sign up to find husbands. Over a 1000 women in Kano have joined the scheme and more than twice that amount of men have applied to be given a wife.

in last month, men have been flocking to the northern Nigerian city of Kano in their thousands, some dressed in sharp, tailor-made suits, others carrying worn leather brief cases containing divorce papers and medical certificates.

Some are widowed or divorced. Others say they have simply been unlucky in love. All are hoping to win the chance to wed one of the 1000 women looking for husbands under the new scheme sponsored by the the state of Kano.

Kano state has been rocked by Boko Haram-issued violence in recent months, but as a result of the new programme, the city - home to more than a million widowed or divorced women - is gaining a new reputation: as a mecca for matchmaking.

So far, 2000 men ranging in age from 20 to 85 have applied for the marriages, which will be held en masse at the end of April and will be fully financed by the state.

Angry about the lack of men willing to marry divorced or widowed women in Kano, one million women were mobilesd, calling on them to march through the streets of the city in protest. The state intervened, coming up with the novel idea as a way of dampening tensions.

The new scheme gives women "a second chance,". And there are tough penalties for men who want to back out of the marriages: they will be fined 1.5 million naira (7,200 euros).

YARNZ says....guess its a good and bad choice to follow this ...

DON JAZZY and D'BANJ exchange words!

a confidential email correspondence between them has revealed  by punch that the two are at logger heads

D’banj must pay all the debts of Mo’Hits – Don Jazzy
In regards to D’banj’s claim for 100 percent ownership of all songs recorded under the Mo’Hits imprint, the acclaimed producer in an email on March 17th, states, “That Mo’Hits Records does not already own 100 per cent of the songs. Note that Mo’Hits Records only owns 60 per cent of the songs and 40 per cent belongs to the individual artiste. So, 40 per cent of the songs is not mine to give.” He continues, “That me (I am) giving him (D’banj) my share of the catalogue does not and will never include him having the right to stop them (the artistes)  from performing the songs or give him the right to claim any monies for live performances of these songs. And any loans or debt owed by Mo’Hits records as at today will be cleared by Mr D’banj as I am clearly not aware of any.”
Don Jazzy states further that the catalogues he is releasing to his former partner only consists of songs already released in an album exempting new singles and unreleased materials. “So, songs like Wande Coal’s Go Low and Been Long You Saw Me are not part of this catalogue he is receiving.

Mercy wins...nigerian idol!

A journey of a million miles they say begins with a step. There’s no doubt that the journey on this season of Nigerian Idol has kept everyone on the edge of their seats; from the auditions, to the Top 100, Top 30, Top 12 and down to the grand finale, there has been no dull moment. It was filled with a mix of emotions, high and low moments and not to forget the hilarious ones too as we went in search for the next Nigerian Idol.
It’s certain there would have been no show if you the fans and viewers were not part of this incredible journey of igniting one of the Nigerian idol hopefuls’ dreams. The much awaited and most anticipated moment of this show – the announcement of the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 2, could not have come any sooner as it was down to the 2 most outstanding finalists, Joe Blue and Mercy, who your votes saved on every eviction show, except the eviction show when Joe Blue was evicted but was given a second chance thanks to the “Wild Card” vote from the judges. Both finalists showed Nigeria and viewers outside Nigeria who followed the show online how hard they’ve worked and how passionate they are about igniting their dreams. With each contestant having huge fan bases home and away, it was a keenly contested finale as no one knew who would emerge as the next Nigerian Idol.
The show opened with a speech from the CEO of Optima Media Group, Mr. Rotimi Pedro and also Etisalat’s CEO, Steve Evans. This season’s finale would be one that would be talked about for a very long time because of the lineup of stars who graced the stage. Wizkid and MI, two of Nigeria’s most successful music artistes were present to give the audience a good show as the waited for the host Ill Rymz and Tiwa Savage to make the grand announcement. Let’s not forget our judges, the diva Yinka Davies, Jeffery Daniels the cool one and Are Father himself Charly Boy, whose presence on the show played a vital role in shaping and igniting the dreams of the two finalists. They gave their last words of advice and encouragement to both contestants and urged them to work hard as they go into the real world of music.
For the last time on the Nigerian Idol stage, Joe Blue and Mercy performed first a duet and then individual performances that would linger in people’s minds.
Time for the moment everyone waited six months for… the announcement of the winner of Nigerian idol Season 2. Ill Rymz called on the Steve Evans, Etisalat’s CEO, and Hakeem Belo-Osagie, Chairman of Etisalat Nigeria to reveal whose name was on the envelope brought in my Lola from Alexander Forbes. Without any time to waste, the chairman called out Mercy’s name as the winner chosen by Nigeria! In addition to the Nigerian Idol title, Mercy walked away with a brand new SUV, 7.5million naira, a recording contract and other prizes from sponsors. Joe Blue the 1st runner-up didn’t go home empty handed, he walked away with 1.5million naira and other prizes from sponsors, so did Stephen Onochie – 2nd runner-up who was given a cash prize of 1million naira with consolation prizes for the other finalists.
It truly was a rollercoaster ride this season! We say a big thank you for the followership and support for the show. To the crew members and everyone who worked on thi Nigerian idol project, Cheers to Team Work! Thank you Nigeria…Watch out for Season 3.

FACEBOOK spends 1billion dollars....

for those who haven't heard face book just acquired an online photo company for a whooping 1 billions dollars....MONEY DEY OH!!...this is what  Mark Zuckerberg the owner of facebook, had to say

'I'm excited to share the news that we've agreed to acquire Instagram and that their talented team will be joining Facebook.

For years, we've focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. Now, we'll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your int...erests.

We believe these are different experiences that complement each other. But in order to do this well, we need to be mindful about keeping and building on Instagram's strengths and features rather than just trying to integrate everything into Facebook.

That's why we're committed to building and growing Instagram independently. Millions of people around the world love the Instagram app and the brand associated with it, and our goal is to help spread this app and brand to even more people.

We think the fact that Instagram is connected to other services beyond Facebook is an important part of the experience. We plan on keeping features like the ability to post to other social networks, the ability to not share your Instagrams on Facebook if you want, and the ability to have followers and follow people separately from your friends on Facebook.

These and many other features are important parts of the Instagram experience and we understand that. We will try to learn from Instagram's experience to build similar features into our other products. At the same time, we will try to help Instagram continue to grow by using Facebook's strong engineering team and infrastructure.

This is an important milestone for Facebook because it's the first time we've ever acquired a product and company with so many users. We don't plan on doing many more of these, if any at all. But providing the best photo sharing experience is one reason why so many people love Facebook and we knew it would be worth bringing these two companies together.

We're looking forward to working with the Instagram team and to all of the great new experiences we're going to be able to build together.'
